{"id":12772,"date":"2023-11-13T23:20:23","date_gmt":"2023-11-13T22:20:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ciezaentumano.com\/?p=12772"},"modified":"2023-11-29T15:57:21","modified_gmt":"2023-11-29T14:57:21","slug":"campana-informativa-sobre-el-uso-del-patinete-electrico-en-cieza","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ciezaentumano.com\/en\/campana-informativa-sobre-el-uso-del-patinete-electrico-en-cieza\/","title":{"rendered":"Information campaign on the use of electric scooters in Cieza"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The councilors for Police and Youth and Sustainable Mobility, Jes\u00fas Casta\u00f1o and Cristo Manuel Lucas, respectively, have today presented an information campaign on the use of electric scooters in the municipality.<\/p>\n<p>They pointed out that the streets of Spanish cities have become filled with electric scooters, making them a popular option for personal mobility. \u201cHowever, the use of these vehicles is subject to a series of regulations that users should be aware of to avoid penalties and ensure everyone&#039;s safety on public roads.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>For this reason, the Cieza City Council, through the Local Police, Citizen Security, Traffic and Road Safety departments and the Youth and Sustainable Mobility departments headed by Jes\u00fas Casta\u00f1o and Cristo Manuel Lucas respectively, has launched the &#039;Information Campaign on the responsible use of personal mobility vehicles&#039;.<\/p>\n<p>The aim of this campaign is to inform the entire population, and especially young people, who are major users of these vehicles, about the current regulations governing their use, Lucas explained.<\/p>\n<p>Casta\u00f1o, for his part, indicated that this campaign begins today on the street, where the police will inform users of this type of vehicle about the regulations and will extend until the 26th.<\/p>\n<p>Starting next week, November 20th, talks will be held in compulsory secondary education centers where students will be informed about the regulations for the use of this type of vehicle.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h5><strong>Essential features of the electric scooter<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p>To be considered a <em>personal mobility vehicle (PMV)<\/em>An electric scooter must meet the following requirements: it must have one or more wheels and be designed for a single person. The maximum permitted speed ranges from 6 to 25 km\/h. It must have two independent brakes and, in the case of scooters with fewer than three wheels, a stabilization system, such as a side kickstand or a center stand. It must be equipped with lights, reflectors, and an audible warning device.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<h5><strong>Required documentation<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p>Until January 22, 2024, no license or registration will be required to drive electric scooters. However, it is recommended to have liability insurance.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<h5><strong>Minimum age to drive<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p>The minimum age to drive an electric scooter varies according to municipal ordinances, but is generally set at <strong>16 years old<\/strong>Depending on the city, minors under the age specified in the ordinance may only use scooters in areas closed to traffic and under adult supervision.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h5><strong>Permitted places to drive<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p>It is important to note that driving on sidewalks, pedestrian areas, highways, motorways, intercity roads or tunnels in urban areas is not permitted.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<h5><strong>Use of a protective helmet<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p>Wearing a helmet is not mandatory, regardless of age or where you are riding, but it is recommended.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<h5><strong>Liability insurance<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p>Although state regulations do not mandate having insurance, it is advisable to have liability insurance to cover potential accidents.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<h5><strong>Speeding<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p>If a scooter exceeds 25 km\/h, it is considered a moped and must meet additional requirements, such as license, insurance and registration.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h5><strong>Use of electronic devices<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p>It is prohibited to ride electric scooters while using headphones, headsets, or mobile phones.
