The Finance Councillor, Mari \u00c1ngeles Ruiz Aniorte, has announced that the final agreement for the partial modification of the tax ordinances regulating the household waste and solid waste collection fee and the property tax, as well as the general ordinance for management, settlement, inspection and collection, has been published in the Official Gazette of the Region of Murcia (BORM) today, Monday, November 20.<\/p>\n
Ruiz Aniorte pointed out that \u201cthis modification reflects the government team\u2019s commitment to defending and promoting families, and especially large families in particular, because it understands that large families are an important economic agent in three fundamental areas: first, they promote generational renewal and contribute to reducing the aging of the population; second, they contribute to obtaining greater tax revenue, mainly through indirect taxes, due to their higher level of consumption and, therefore, their greater tax contribution; and third, they contribute to guaranteeing the Social Security and pension system because they provide more labor to society.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cIn short, large families enrich the country with human capital and contribute greatly to society, especially values such as solidarity, commitment, generosity, and so many others,\u201d the councilwoman emphasized.<\/p>\n
Regarding the household waste and solid waste collection fee, the discount will apply to the family's primary residence, where they are registered as living. The special family support rate is \u20ac8.45. As for property tax, taxpayers who qualify as large families, depending on their category, will receive a discount on the full amount of the tax for their primary residence, where the family must be registered as living. The discounts will be as follows:<\/p>\n
\u2013 Special category large families: 90% bonus.<\/p>\n
\u2013 Large families of general category: 50% bonus.<\/p>\n
Requirements to apply for these bonuses<\/p>\n
To qualify for these discounts, the interested party must submit an application, which must include:<\/p>\n
\u2013 Copy of the current official title that reflects the status and category of large family.<\/p>\n
\u2013 In the case of the household waste and solid waste collection fee, families registered at a rented address must also submit a copy of the lease agreement and any express extensions thereof, clearly stating their obligation to pay this fee, and must provide proof of direct debit authorization from a bank. Applications must be submitted during the year prior to the fee accrual. Applications can be submitted either in person at the Town Hall Registry or electronically through the Town Hall's website: https:\/\/sede.cieza.es\/<\/p>\n
The application period runs from today until December 31st, inclusive. Regarding the General Ordinance on Management, Settlement, Inspection, and Collection, the amendment primarily addresses the following: No late payment interest will be charged on tax debts for payment deferral or installment agreements requested during the voluntary payment period, under the conditions and terms stipulated in the ordinance, provided they pertain to debts with periodic due dates and collective notification, and that full payment is made within the same fiscal year in which they accrued. These installment or deferral agreements are considered granted upon submission of the application, with automatically quarterly installments, and provided they do not exceed the limits for deferrable or installable debts, nor the amount for which guarantees are required.<\/p>\n
Failure to comply with these terms will have the same consequences as any other breach stipulated in this ordinance. Those who do not set up direct debit payments must appear in person at the Tax Collection Department to receive the payment slips for the installments or partial payments. Regarding the guarantees offered, the applicant may provide any of the guarantees established in Article 82 of the General Tax Law and its collection regulations. The guarantee will, in all cases, cover the principal amount being deferred or paid in installments, plus late payment interest, and an additional 25% of the sum of both amounts. No guarantee is required when the deferred or paid-in installments debt does not exceed \u20ac18,000.00. These modifications are effective as of today, November 20, 2023.<\/p>\n
