This Thursday night, the Regional Film Library premiered the documentary "I Was in Olympia," an original idea directed by Och\u00e9 Cort\u00e9s. It features the testimony of athletes from Murcia who have participated in the Olympic Games. The event was presented by former basketball player, journalist, and Olympic medalist Fernando Romay and served as a tribute to regional sport.<\/p>\n
The documentary focuses more on the human side, the effort and dedication of the athlete to achieve a place in the Olympic Games.<\/p>\n
Thus, more than thirty Olympic athletes from the Region of Murcia recount their experiences and feelings while competing in the Games. The participants include Olympic medalists Antonio Pe\u00f1alver (Barcelona 92), Rafa Mir (Tokyo 2021), Laura Gil (Rio de Janeiro 2016), Diego Javier Mu\u00f1oz, and Miguel \u00c1ngel Clemente, the latter two at the London 2012 Paralympic Games. Also participating are athletes who have earned Olympic or Paralympic diplomas, such as Juanma Molina, Miguel \u00c1ngel L\u00f3pez, Lorenzo Albadalejo, Sonia Ruiz, Miguel Fern\u00e1ndez, Eloy Teruel, Pablo Aitor Bernal, Lidia Marta Ba\u00f1os, Mar\u00eda Jos\u00e9 Mart\u00ednez, Nicol\u00e1s Almagro, Francisco S\u00e1nchez Jover, and Jes\u00fas S\u00e1nchez Jover.<\/p>\n
The documentary also features the testimony of Alejandro Valverde, a cyclist from Murcia who has participated in five Olympic Games, specifically those in Athens, Beijing, London, Rio de Janeiro, and Tokyo. Several of these athletes will be present at the premiere of "Yo estuve en Olimpia" this Thursday at 8:00 p.m., as well as representatives of sports federations from the Region of Murcia. A limited number of invitations have been made available to the public at the box office of the Francisco Rabal Film Library of the Region of Murcia.<\/p>\n
