The Vega Lorenzo Guirao Hospital in Cieza will have 468 photovoltaic modules installed on the canopies of the main parking lot. Thanks to this new installation, the hospital will save an estimated \u20ac50,600 in electricity each year.<\/p>\n
Juan Jos\u00e9 visited the construction site of the new solar installation, which will involve an investment of nearly \u20ac280,000. "The solar panels cover 1,206 square meters and will have a capacity of 255 kilowatts," he explained.<\/p>\n
This will allow for a production of more than 330,000 kilowatt-hours (KWh) per year, "which represents around 11 percent of the hospital's annual electricity consumption," Juan Jos\u00e9 emphasized, adding that "the reduction in CO2 emissions into the atmosphere is estimated at 82,468 kilograms\/year, which meets the sustainability objective."<\/p>\n
The installation of these photovoltaic panels is part of the Plan for Energy Efficiency Measures in Hospital Facilities, which was presented by the regional government with the aim of contributing to environmental improvement and becoming more economically and energy-efficient.<\/p>\n
This plan has a budget of \u20ac52.2 million. The implementation period is eight years, from 2022 to 2030, and \u20ac14 million has already been spent.<\/p>\n
Juan Jos\u00e9 also recalled that the Governing Council authorized the contract for the installation of solar photovoltaic energy at 67 health centers in the Region of Murcia, for a total amount of \u20ac4,684,277. The installation of these solar panels is expected to be completed in the first half of next year.<\/p>\n
This project is included in the Primary Care Improvement Strategy and will generate 3,855,441.46 kWh\/year, representing an estimated saving of approximately \u20ac700,000 per year. This represents approximately 33 percent of annual consumption, depending on electricity prices and market fluctuations. Furthermore, with the installation of these panels, an annual reduction of more than 25 percent in CO2 emissions into the atmosphere is expected.<\/p>\n
