Under the name AtalaJazz M\u00e1giko Festival, the Atalaya Club yesterday presented a new cultural offering at a press conference ahead of the 23rd M\u00e1giko Film Week. With this cultural event, the sociocultural association completes its full program of music and film for the month of August.<\/p>\n
The Atalaya Club is embarking once again. Andr\u00e9s Villa and Mar\u00eda Cano, members of the association, presented the first AtalaJazz M\u00e1giko Festival on Tuesday, which will take place on August 7, 8, and 9 in the courtyard of the association's facilities. A lineup of renowned musicians and groups from the jazz world will star in the three days of live music.<\/p>\n
As expected, the festival opens on Wednesday the 7th with two jazz icons from Cieza, the duo formed by Antonio Aroca and Pascual Mart\u00ednez. This veteran duo, with a broad approach to jazz, encompassing different sounds and styles, and bridging the gap between rhythm and harmony, establishes a fascinating dialogue between two instrumentalist friends who have known each other for over thirty years.<\/p>\n
On Thursday the 8th, a traditional hot jazz band of international renown, the Potato Head Jazz Band, composed of six musicians of different nationalities, will perform. Considered by many to be the best band of this style in the country, this group, with over 20 years of existence and eight albums released, remains faithful to a very personal style and sound, respecting early 20th-century jazz while adding their energy and good humor live.<\/p>\n
The festival closes on Friday the 9th with singer Marta Llenas and pianist Enrique Sim\u00f3n, one of the most inspired jazz duos on the Spanish music scene. With their dizzying rhythms, devastating swing, the warm sounds of the saxophone, and the mysterious intimacy of the double bass, they perform at this festival in a quintet formation alongside other great musicians from Cieza, Pedro V\u00e1zquez on drums, Joserra Zamora on saxophone, and Antonio Pe\u00f1alver on double bass.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
