The grant received in Cieza amounts to 606,410.60 euros.

The Cieza project will be managed through the Department of Employment and Economic Development. The experimental project is called "Modernization of employment workshop infrastructure, adaptation, and maintenance of street furniture."

It will offer three workshops: carpentry, electricity, and masonry, each lasting one year. It is intended for unemployed individuals registered with the SEF (Spanish Social Security System) and over 30 years of age. There are 20 places available in total.

The new training programs will improve the skills of 861 unemployed people in the Region of Murcia through training and job opportunities performing public works in those municipalities.

The Ministry of Business, Employment, and Social Economy, through the Regional Employment Service (SEF), has allocated €23.7 million to new experiential training and employment projects so that 34 municipalities in the Region of Murcia, including Cieza, can employ and train 861 unemployed people in the coming months.

Specifically, this grant, funded by the State Public Employment Service and co-funded by the European Social Fund Plus (ESF+), will enable these local entities to develop a total of 49 projects lasting between nine and 12 months. These projects will contribute to improving the qualifications of their participants by providing them with theoretical training and job opportunities carrying out public or social works or services in their municipalities.

For the unemployed and Youth Guarantee

This program will have two modalities: one aimed at unemployed people in general and the other at young people registered with the national Youth Guarantee system. Regarding the former, 33 projects will be launched this year with a total budget of €16.7 million, which will enable 612 people to be trained. Unemployed people of any age are welcome to participate, as another innovation these projects introduce compared to mixed employment and training programs is that they no longer limit participants to 54 years of age.

As for the projects aimed at young people, they will be implemented in 16 municipalities with a budget of nearly seven million euros and will benefit 249 people between the ages of 18 and 29 who are neither studying nor working.

In addition, the 861 unemployed people expected to be trained through these projects will be hired from the start of the program under the inter-work placement model. Thus, participants, 20 per project, will receive the minimum interprofessional wage for the entire duration, plus two bonus payments. This inter-work placement period will also count toward unemployment benefits.

Photo: archive.

It will offer three workshops: carpentry, electricity, and masonry, each lasting one year.
