The Ministry of Education and Vocational Training published today the resolution regulating the "PROA+" Program for Educational Guidance, Advancement, and Enrichment in publicly funded schools in the Region. This program is part of the "Sup\u00e9raTE" Plan and includes individualized tutoring in language and mathematics in small groups with the goal of reducing the repetition rate and boosting educational success.<\/p>\n
The call for applications from schools to participate in the 'PROA+' program will be open from January 27 to February 7, and information can be found on the Educarm bulletin board.<\/p>\n
The program is aimed at publicly funded preschool, primary, and secondary schools with at least 30 percent of students at risk of education, as well as rural schools, schools located in deprived areas, or with a highly dispersed population. Furthermore, schools must have at least 60 percent of the teaching staff agreeing to participate in the program.<\/p>\n
The beneficiaries are students in the second cycle of Early Childhood Education, Primary, Secondary, Basic Vocational Training, Baccalaureate, and Intermediate Vocational Training at the centers, with a focus on the most educationally vulnerable.<\/p>\n
The goal is to provide specialized attention to students to improve academic outcomes in cognitive and socio-emotional learning, reduce the number of students who repeat a year and those with learning difficulties, reduce truancy, improve reading comprehension and mathematics performance for all students, especially the most vulnerable, maintain a positive inclusive environment in the school, and stabilize the teaching and professional team throughout the duration of the program.<\/p>\n
Participating centers will be required to develop a Strategic Improvement Plan and a Leverage Activities Plan, which are initiatives implemented by the center to carry out a comprehensive transformation process. The call includes a series of achievement indicators for the areas of mathematics and language, in Primary and Compulsory Secondary Education, with items such as: locate specific information from an oral text in everyday situations, recognize key ideas in a text from different sources of information, apply spelling rules, interpret statistical graphs from everyday life, and interpret mathematical vocabulary used in everyday situations, among others. 'PROA+' has an investment of 5.7 million euros and is financed by the Ministry of Education, Vocational Training and Sport and the European Social Fund Plus (ESF+).<\/p>\n
This program is part of the "Sup\u00e9raTE" Plan, which will benefit approximately 300 educational centers in the region. It offers tutoring in small groups, where intensive training will be provided in the instrumental areas of language and mathematics.<\/p>\n
These small groups, which can be held during school hours or outside of school, will last approximately four months this school year.<\/p>\n
This plan has an investment of 18 million euros through the 2026-2027 academic year and includes specific training for the teachers who will implement it and the hiring of more than 160 teachers.<\/p>\n
Furthermore, the plan promotes the continuous improvement of educational centers. Based on indicators selected by the Ministry, such as the promotion and graduation rate, suitability, and other specific indicators in key areas, the program will be able to measure their progress with the goal of improving year after year.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
