\nGeneral was able to stop the activities scheduled for the Book Fair. On Monday,
\nIn April, historian Pascual Santos L\u00f3pez presented his book \u201cRadical thought in the
\nMurcia of the Enlightenment\u201d, in the Cloister of the Padre Salmer\u00f3n Library in Cieza.<\/p>\n
As it was not possible, due to the circumstances known to all, for the professor
\nof Modern History at the University of Murcia, Francisco Javier Guillam\u00f3n,
\ndisplaced, introduced the author to the historian Manuela Caballero Gonz\u00e1lez who spoke to us
\nof the work done by Pascual Santos to write the two books of the trilogy,
\nentitled \u201cRadical Enlightenment in Spain\u201d, highlighting that in this second book he deals with
\nunpublished characters in the dawn of liberalism.<\/p>\n
The author explained that although our country has always been accused of not having
\nEnlightenment or that was minor or peripheral than that of other European countries, thanks to the
\nThe rich archives of the Spanish Inquisition prove the opposite. Because of the
\n595 cases on heretical propositions, between the years 1780 and 1820, which were
\npreserved from the Spanish Monarchy throughout the world, 95 are from the Inquisition
\nMurcian, which demonstrates the importance of radical enlightened thought in the
\nancient Kingdom of Murcia, thanks to the work of the San Fulgencio Seminary. To which
\nThey called it the Seminary of the Enlightened in their time.<\/p>\n
In addition, the public was able to chat with the author about the cases of Alejandro Malaspina and
\nother unpublished heroes, who fought for the Constitution and against the absolutism of the
\nOld Regime, in the incomparable setting of the Cloister of the Convent with a
