The program of events will begin with the screening of two short documentaries.
\n\u201cCommanders Luna and Alberto\u201d, a story of Valencian internationalist solidarity
\nCuban. Video in tribute to Cuban solidarity in defense of the Spanish Republic and its
\nrelationship with the Valencian democratic memory. Produced by the Jos\u00e9 Mart\u00ed Association and by
\nCubainformacion.tv.<\/p>\n
The second documentary, \u201cCuba 60 years resisting the blockade\u201d addresses the economic blockade,
\nUS commercial and financial embargo against Cuba, which has had a significant impact
\neconomic and humanitarian, and which still provokes controversy in the international community.
\nThe United Nations General Assembly reiterated for the thirty-second time, in the year 2024,
\nunequivocally its position against the United States economic embargo on Cuba and
\ncalled for an end to this unilateral imposition. The resolution obtained this year 187 votes to
\nin favor, 2 against (United States and Israel,) and one abstention (Moldova) (The General Assembly
\nrejects again by an overwhelming majority the embargo on Cuba | UN News (un.org)).
\nAfter the screenings, and under the title \u201cConsequences of 66 years of US blockade on
\nCuba\u201d, Jes\u00fas Gil Porcel of the Miguel Hern\u00e1ndez Association of Friendship with Cuba of Alicante and
\nMariano Cano Mart\u00ednez from Entrepueblos OT Murcia, will talk about the current situation of the
\nCuban Revolution and solidarity projects. The Alicante Cuba Friendship Association,
\nFor more than 30 years he has been working on development cooperation projects in solidarity with
\nthe Cuban Revolution, while spreading Cuban culture and disseminating social reality,
\neconomic and cultural of the island. Entrepueblos is an international solidarity association
\nindependent, feminist, established in 1988 by the Committees of Solidarity with Latin America
\nand works for equity and social justice, criticizes the capitalist model of society,
\ndenouncing the causes that generate impoverishment and environmental degradation.<\/p>\n
The opening of the exhibition 'The Achievements of the Cuban Revolution' completes the days,
\nan exhibition that shows the health system in Cuba, public, free, comprehensive and
\nuniversal as well as the achievements, among others, of Education in Cuba, where the rate of
\nIlliteracy for a Third World country is 0.2 %. Cuba is the country in the world with the highest
\ninvests in Education, with 13% of GDP Culture, sport, childhood, women,
\nInternationalism and the solidarity of the Cuban people are also part of this exhibition.<\/p>\n
The exhibition will remain from Friday, May 30 to Saturday, June 14 in the gallery.
\nexhibitions of the Atalaya Club and can be visited in the afternoon from Monday to Friday and at
\nmornings on the weekend.<\/p>\n
