The Cieza City Council has actively participated in the
\nworkshop called PEER REVIEW or inter-city review
\nheld in the city of Vratsa (Bulgaria), within the framework of the
\nEuropean project URBACT BiodiverCity, an initiative that
\npromotes biodiversity in the urban environment and the
\nexchange of good practices between European cities
\ncommitted to biodiversity.<\/p>\n
During the meeting, representatives of Cieza presented the
\npresentation entitled \u201cClimate-adaptive management of trees
\nurban\u201d, in which the strategies and actions were presented
\nthat the municipality is developing to improve resilience
\nof urban trees in the face of climate change.<\/p>\n
The intervention highlighted the importance of green planning
\nadapted to the new climatic conditions, as well as the role
\nkey that trees play in reducing
\ntemperatures, improved air quality and well-being
\ncitizen.<\/p>\n
The URBACT BiodiverCity project brings together different cities
\nEuropean with the aim of promoting biodiversity in the
\nurban areas, integrating ecological criteria into the management of
\npublic spaces and promoting solutions based on the
\nnature.<\/p>\n
Cieza's participation in this European workshop reaffirms the
\nthe municipality's commitment to environmental protection
\nenvironment, climate adaptation and city building
\ngreener and more habitable. It also allows strengthening the
\ninternational collaboration and incorporating experiences
\ninnovative that will enrich local policies
\nsustainability and biodiversity.<\/p>\n
With its involvement in the URBACT BiodiverCity project,
\nCieza advances in its biophilic city strategy, integrating the
\nnature as an essential element of well-being and quality of life
