Next Friday, October 31, the Capitol Theatre in Cieza will host two performances of "La Celestina, hilando fino", a fresh and comical version of the classic by Fernando de Rojas that continues its successful tour of the Region of Murcia.<\/p>\n
This production by Arena Teatro y Danza and Ap\u00f3cope Teatro reinterprets the Golden Age work with humor, wit, and contemporary language, bringing its essence closer to today's audiences. Three performers\u2014Raquel Catas\u00fas, Joselu Cremades, and Javi Soto\u2014bring all the characters to life in an ensemble piece that combines dynamism, irony, and a brisk pace that captivates from the very first minute.<\/p>\n
The production retains the universal themes of the original text\u2014desire, ambition, manipulation, and class struggle\u2014but gives them a fun and modern twist, inviting us to rediscover La Celestina from a new perspective: that of comedy.<\/p>\n
The performance for the general public will take place at 8:30 p.m. at the Capitol Theatre in Cieza. This performance is part of the autumn regional tour of "La Celestina, hilando fino" (La Celestina, With Fine Threads), which is visiting various municipalities in the Region of Murcia with the support of the Institute of Cultural Industries and the Arts of the Region of Murcia (ICA). This production consolidates the collaborative work of Ap\u00f3cope Teatro and Arena Teatro y Danza, companies that previously achieved success with "Don Juan Tenorio," a classic reimagined with humor. Both companies remain committed to promoting the great texts of the Spanish classical repertoire, bringing them to new audiences without sacrificing their depth or critical perspective.<\/p>\n
On the morning of Friday, October 31st, a special performance will be held exclusively for school groups. Four schools from Cieza, with secondary and high school students, will attend and have the opportunity to enjoy a version specially adapted for young audiences.<\/p>\n
