Next Tuesday, September 5th, the 2017-2018 school year begins in the Region of Murcia. The first to begin the year will be preschool and primary school students in the municipalities of Murcia and Beniel. It will begin on Thursday, September 7th, in Cieza.<\/p>\n
On the 6th it will be the turn of the students of Albudeite, Blanca, Jumilla, Librilla, Los Alc\u00e1zares, Oj\u00f3s, Ricote, and on Thursday 7th classes will begin in the municipalities of Abanilla, Abar\u00e1n, \u00c1guilas, Alcantarilla, Aledo, Alguazas, Alhama de Murcia, Archena, Campos del R\u00edo, Caravaca de la Cruz, Ceut\u00ed, Cieza, Fortuna, Fuente \u00c1lamo, Las Torres de Cotillas, Lorqu\u00ed, Molina de Segura, Moratalla, Mula, San Javier, Ulea and Villanueva del R\u00edo Segura.<\/p>\n
On the 8th, the school year will begin in Bullas, Cartagena, Ceheg\u00edn, La Uni\u00f3n, Mazarr\u00f3n, Santomera, Totana, and Yecla. Finally, on the 11th, the school year will begin in Calasparra, Lorca, Pliego, Puerto Lumbreras, San Pedro del Pinatar, and Torre Pacheco.<\/p>\n
In secondary and high school education, the school year will begin between September 12 and 19. Molina de Segura is the first municipality to begin classes at these levels, and Yecla the last.<\/p>\n
Elementary and vocational courses, which comprise a minimum of 165 school days, such as music and dance, and fine arts and design, will begin on September 19. Language courses will begin on September 27 and end on May 30, 2018.<\/p>\n
School calendar agreed upon with the 45 municipalities<\/strong><\/p>\n The school calendar for the next academic year has been designed with the participation of the 45 municipalities, which have established the start and end of the school year for each municipality, as well as the non-school days corresponding to local holidays and other non-school days determined by each locality.<\/p>\n The Minister of Education, Youth, and Sports, Adela Mart\u00ednez-Cach\u00e1, stated that the calendar "includes all the requests from the educational community and has been agreed upon in a bid to ensure flexibility and the participation of school councils and centers."<\/p>\n Mart\u00ednez-Cach\u00e1 emphasized that "the participation of municipalities in the design of the school calendar aims to provide greater autonomy to educational centers, one of the measures established in the 'More Educational Quality, More Academic Success' strategy."<\/p>\n The regulations governing non-university educational centers establish that each municipality must comply with the minimum number of school days established: 178 in Primary, 175 in Secondary, and 167 in Vocational Training.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Next Tuesday, September 5th, the 2017-2018 school year begins in the Region of Murcia.
