The Department of Services reports the good progress of the construction of the small squares in the San Jos\u00e9 Obrero neighborhood, awarded for a total of 171,000 euros and expected to be completed within a maximum period of four months.<\/p>\n
The mayor of Cieza, Pascual Lucas, welcomed the fact that "one of this government's commitments is becoming a reality, as it is a completely necessary investment that resumes the investments in infrastructure improvements being made in this neighborhood, which were abandoned for many years by the Popular Party governments, which year after year diverted all investment to the city center, neglecting the outskirts."<\/p>\n
For his part, the Councilor for Services, Paco Saor\u00edn, reported that, "Over the years, a maintenance deficit has developed in the area, and the goal is to update it and bring it up to accessibility standards. To achieve this, the existing pavements will be demolished, followed by realignment of the ground level differences, concreting and paving the affected areas, replacing the facility manholes, and creating ramps and handrails adapted to accessibility regulations."<\/p>\n
"Furthermore, the improvements offered during the award process include the installation of bicycle racks, the replacement of lighting in the small squares, the renovation of the Plaza San Pedro pergola, and the restoration of the garden areas."<\/p>\n
Saor\u00edn explained that "these projects have been funded by the Autonomous Community's Pardos Plan and municipal contributions, and are necessary and have been requested for several legislative terms."<\/p>\n
"For the municipal government, this was a priority, as the aforementioned squares are historic and were in need of renovation.
