It seems like one of those low-profile animated films that only pursue the goal of entertaining the little ones in the house, taking few creative risks and, therefore, playing it safe. And, while the shots go in that direction, the new film by Carlos Saldanha (one of the series' mainstays) is a bit of a joke. The Ice Age) surprisingly has an anti-bullfighting subtext that will resonate wildly in Spain and will surely have fans of José Tomás and Francisco Rivera jumping out of their seats. To paraphrase what's often said about war films: for a film about fighting bulls to be good, it has to be anti-bullfighting. And as we said before, Ferdinand certainly is. Mind you, this critic applauds and defends this review; because killing animals for sport is still more typical of illiterate, bygone centuries than of a modern society like ours is supposed to be.

After Christmas, animated films return this weekend with 'Ferdinand' at the Aurelio Guirao Auditorium in Cieza, with the following screening schedule.

Saturday 13, Sunday 14 and Monday 15 January:

Passes, 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.

After Christmas, animated films return this weekend with 'Ferdinand' at the Aurelio Guirao Auditorium in Cieza.

[2
