The Ministry of the Presidency and Public Works recently completed repairs to the water tunnel located at kilometer 10.5 under the RM-532 regional highway, which connects the municipality of Cieza with the RM-15 Northwest Highway. This work will improve safety for the more than 582,000 vehicles that use this road annually, 23,700 of which are heavy vehicles.<\/p>\n
The Director General of Highways, Jos\u00e9 Antonio Fern\u00e1ndez Llad\u00f3, visited the road this week, where he was able to see the results of the maintenance work carried out last month. These included "reinforcing the bridge's base, which was badly damaged by the washout caused by the rain, and improving the foundation to prevent it from collapsing."<\/p>\n
Jos\u00e9 Antonio Fern\u00e1ndez Llad\u00f3 also explained that the road surface, which had deteriorated, has been repaired despite the various actions carried out by the road maintenance brigade.<\/p>\n
"We have restored part of the roadway by demolishing the pavement, thus removing the material that was in poor condition," explained the general manager, who added that, following this work, a reinforced concrete wall has been built to protect the existing masonry wall, "which will prevent the weight of vehicles from affecting it."<\/p>\n
The RM-532 highway was one of the 144 roads included in the roadside and ditch cleaning campaign covering 1,700 kilometers of the regional road network. The campaign removed weeds and grass that hindered visibility and proper longitudinal drainage.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
