She replaces Manuel Ruiz Jiménez, president for the past fifteen years, a great fighter and a person much loved by the group.

Beatriz Sarrión has been one of the most committed people to the association since its inception, and in this new venture, she intends to carry out several projects, but also to reap the seeds sown during so much work with other presidents such as Piedad Buitrago, Anto Ramírez, and Manuel Ruiz himself, during very difficult years for the group.

The first of these opportunities will be for Cauce on July 29th at the “Alvaradas,” which are held in the Cuenca town of Cañete, with which the collective became a sister city in 2005. Historical Festivals and are now commemorating their 20th anniversary. Other towns such as Cuenca, Teruel, Uclés, Chile, and others will also be present. These towns, like Cieza, share a shared history with Cañete marked by the Order of Santiago. For these events, the association has prepared a historical text, which is closely related to the past of both towns and focuses especially on the figures of Don Gonzalo Talón Zapata, a Santiago knight from Cieza, and Don Álvaro de Luna, protagonist of the "Alvaradas."

On this occasion, our City Council and its Councilor for Culture, María Ramos, have decided to collaborate with the people of Cañete, and the association will present, on their behalf, the "Rolling Privileges" of Cieza, an exceptional work if ever there was one. For its part, Cauce will confirm the twinning with a copy of the facsimile edition of Father Salmerón's History of Cieza, produced by the group on the anniversary of the first historian from Cieza.

Source: CAUCE CULTURAL ASSOCIATION.

[18
