The Department for Women reports that meetings have begun with women's associations in the municipality, through discussion groups, to gather input and ideas and collect needs to contribute to the development of the Second Municipal Plan for Equal Opportunities between Men and Women.<\/p>\n
In the words of the Councillor for Women and Equality, Cristina Garc\u00eda-Vaso, \u201cthis Second Equality Plan, which will be in effect for four years, from 2019 to 2022, includes a series of areas and themes directly related to gender equality, which are distributed as follows:<\/p>\n
\u2013 Public Action with a gender focus.<\/p>\n
\u2013 Women's participation and empowerment.<\/p>\n
\u2013 Coeducation, education and training with gender awareness.<\/p>\n
\u2013 Shared responsibility for balancing work, personal and family life.<\/p>\n
\u2013 Employment and Training.<\/p>\n
\u2013 Health and quality of life.<\/p>\n
\u2013 Urban planning with a gender perspective.<\/p>\n
\u2013 Towards a city free of gender-based violence.<\/p>\n
The Councillor for Women and Equality stressed that \u201call these areas share a common main objective: to respond to the current needs of women in order to address the existing situation of gender inequality; influencing public awareness of new values surrounding equality and creating the necessary framework for greater visibility and empowerment of women in the political, social, economic and cultural life of the city.\u201d<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
