As of today, all allowances paid to the various councilors of the Cieza City Council over the past four years can be viewed on the transparency website. It also shows the expenses from the previous council's most recent period, contributing not only to transparency but also to the cost containment that has been a hallmark of this most recent government.<\/p>\n
It is hoped that the next municipal government will not delete this data, but instead incorporate the new data to monitor its progress. With this type of information, the Cieza City Council is once again a pioneer in going far beyond what is required by law; very few municipalities publish this data.<\/p>\n
Regarding advertising spending, progress continues toward transparency and oversight of a municipal area that has been a hotbed of corruption in many city councils, and has been used by certain corporations as a platform for personal advertising.<\/p>\n
According to Miguel Gual, Councilor for Transparency, "Opening the doors, windows, closets, and drawers of Cieza City Hall has been a firm commitment of this corporation and of this councilor in particular.
