This past December, the number of unemployed people in the town decreased by 11. This time, the industrial and service sectors contributed most to these positive figures; however, the agriculture and construction sectors saw less of an improvement. Furthermore, the most significant increase was seen in the number of people entering the job market for the first time, with 28 new entrants.<\/p>\n
Another positive piece of data is the improvement in female employment figures and in the age groups that suffer the most unemployment: young people under 25 and those over 45.<\/p>\n
In year-on-year terms, that is, compared to December 2018, unemployment has decreased by 175 people, so it is concluded that these are the best figures recorded in this month in the last 12 years, and almost 1,300 fewer unemployed compared to December 2014.<\/p>\n
According to the Councillor for Employment and Economic Development, Antonio Moya, Cieza is in "a good moment of improvement in terms of employment, therefore the unemployment data for the month of December again register a significant recovery with the decrease in the number of unemployed compared to the previous month and much more compared to December 2014, becoming the best data recorded in December since 2007," he said.<\/p>\n
