This event is expected to take place between 2:50pm and 3:30pm. The Mariano Rojas Memorial Trophy will be located on Gran Vía Juan Carlos I Avenue. The peloton will tackle the Alto de Cabezo de la Plata in the first hour of the race. Last year, the Vuelta also passed through this mountain pass, topped by Rubén Fernández before the finish in San Javier. This year, it will serve to consolidate the day's break ahead of the first Meta Volante of the day in Fortuna, after 66 kilometers have already been covered, passing El Raal and Cobatillas, overcoming the steep Fortuna road. With hardly any rest, the riders will have to ascend the main climb of the day. The Alto de La Garapacha, a traditional Category 3 mountain pass, is now down to Category 1 as the climb is longer and, therefore, could decide the winner of the mountain climb at the finish line.

Once past the refreshment station in the La Zarza area, the cyclists will head towards Cieza, where they will compete in the second Meta Volante, the Mariano Rojas Memorial, which, as every year, commemorates the famous and memorable Ciezano rider, with just over 55 kilometers remaining. The peloton must overcome the last mountain pass of the day: the Alto de Quípar (category 3), which connects Cieza with Calasparra. Once they reach the top, with less than 40 kilometers remaining, the cyclists will aim for the finish line in Caravaca de la Cruz, located at the Basílica de la Vera Cruz, after ascending the Cuesta del Castillo. This incredible climb, similar to the one the Caballos del Vino (Wine Horses) complete every year, is a spectacle in the quest to find the first person to wear the yellow leader's jersey.

[3
