The new RIADA FEST project was created to showcase the musical culture of the municipality, becoming the first festival dedicated to the performance and dissemination of music by professionals from Cieza or those with ties to the municipality. To achieve this, the organizers state that they want to go beyond simply staging performances, offering diverse content such as presentations and interviews with the musicians, in addition to the concerts themselves. However, they clarify that "participants don't have to be performers. We have two profiles: the performative and the theoretical\/educational, in which musicologists, educators, conductors, or composers propose a talk or presentation on some aspect of their specialty." As the organizers affirm, "Music encompasses different specialties and professions, as well as career paths, and one of our objectives is to highlight the value of all of them."<\/p>\n
The initiative is aimed at all musicians in Cieza, regardless of age, whether they are performers, musicologists, or teachers, among others, but who are dedicated to music. Regarding the second aspect, the theoretical-educational one, "we are open to any well-founded proposal for a talk or lecture." Furthermore, anyone who can demonstrate a musical connection to Cieza is also welcome. "For example, people who have trained at the conservatory, who have belonged to local musical groups, teachers at the music school, etc.," the organizers add.<\/p>\n
The organizers remind everyone that the registration deadline is Sunday the 17th and that they are individually reviewing the applications they receive to provide as much support as possible to candidates, thus facilitating the participation of as many musicians as possible. They add that "the goal of the festival is to become an annual event, providing a platform for visibility and opportunities for musicians."<\/p>\n
