From mid-February until well into March, <strong>blanket of pink and white flowers,<\/strong> Over the fields, it heralds the arrival of spring, like a tacit pact between air, water, and earth. With this natural creation, Cieza has devised a strategy to boost tourism, associating the five petals of the peach blossom with five disciplines: sports, gastronomy, heritage, nature, and performing arts. International visitors include tourists from the United Kingdom, Germany, Belgium, Italy, the Netherlands, France, China, and the USA.<\/p>\n<p>Beyond the Floraci\u00f3n tourism project, <strong>Cieza has fostered the diversification of its economy, <\/strong>mostly based on agricultural resources, through a cultural and natural approach.<\/p>\n<p>In Cieza, awaits <strong>unique natural space, with hundreds of kilometers of mountain trails<\/strong>Cieza&#039;s cultural heritage is immense: the abandoned village of Siy\u00e2sa, considered the Islamic treasure of Europe, is located within the town, and it is not the only archaeological treasure. The town boasts sites from various historical periods. The existing artistic and historical value has helped to understand the origins not only of Cieza, but also of the Region and the country.<\/p>\n<p>The natural beauty found in the different areas of Cieza blends with the rich history of its sites. The Almadenes Canyon, a unique landscape shared with the neighboring town of Calasparra, hides the oldest cave art in the Region of Murcia, in the Cueva del Arco (Cave of the Arch), dating from the late Upper Paleolithic period.<\/p>\n<p>The commitment to the conservation and protection of heritage has meant, in the city, the creation of <strong>different museums to safeguard material and immaterial treasures.<\/strong> The Siy\u00e2sa Museum, which houses a magnificent display of Cieza&#039;s archaeological heritage; the Esparto Museum, which showcases a large number of items related to esparto culture; the Folklore Interpretation Centre, with an original exhibition on the traditions and ways of life of the Murcia region; the Holy Week House-Museum, which preserves works from more than a century of Cieza&#039;s Nazarene passion; and the Teodoro Mill, with the vestiges of the water culture, so deeply rooted in the history of the Segura River.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The Yearbook of the Region of Murcia compiles the main topics that dominated international, national and regional news in Murcia throughout 2019<\/strong>as well as articles by various experts in each subject who analyze everything that happened with an investigative approach. <strong>The Yearbook was created in 1992<\/strong>and consolidates itself as the <strong>only regional publication <\/strong>of this type, in which you can consult, at a moment, the most relevant events that have occurred throughout the previous year both in the Region and outside of it.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Cieza se convierte en un tema destacado, por su apuesta tur\u00edstica, en el compendio informativo de 2019 El Colegio Oficial de Periodistas edita el Anuario de la Regi\u00f3n de Murcia, un documento que recoge los acontecimientos m\u00e1s importantes ocurridos en este \u00faltimo a\u00f1o.
