Virtual museums are a reality, and the Esparto Museum of Cieza has just joined them. Thanks to an initiative by the Regional Government's Directorate General of Crafts, which has funded the digitization of the Esparto and Industry Interpretation Center, this Cieza museum can now be visited using cutting-edge technology, from the comfort of your home, from anywhere in the world, with just a click online. This online tool, along with its website, also serves as a valuable educational resource for teachers and professors.<\/p>\n
The virtualization of the museum through an immersive 360\u00b0 virtual tour was carried out by Puzzle Comunicaci\u00f3n Digital, who have done a magnificent job. This interactive and immersive tour offers more than just images; it gives the user the feeling of actually being inside.<\/p>\n
Being able to explore the museum's facilities, tools, equipment, graphic materials, and other holdings through this cutting-edge technology becomes a significant asset for its promotion. This is especially true in these times of pandemic, when travel restrictions between cities and countries are imposed for health reasons.<\/p>\n
The fact that our museum has gone virtual does not mean, in any way, that it ceases to be a living museum, as it has always been. Digitization, necessary and highly useful, is, however, just one more facet of it. Therefore, we will continue to encourage in-person visits, which provide a complete visual and sometimes sensory experience, fully perceptible when the tour is conducted in this way.<\/p>\n
Since the 3D Tour went live, visits to our website have multiplied. The next step will be to offer the tour in French and English, in addition to Spanish.<\/p>\n
With this new innovative resource, the Esparto Museum has its doors "open" 24 hours a day so that anyone who wishes can enter it and enjoy the treasures it holds.<\/p>\n
