The event, scheduled for 7:30 p.m., will be attended by editors Fernando Fern\u00e1ndez Villa and Francisco Mar\u00edn Garc\u00eda, historian Francisco Javier Salmer\u00f3n Gim\u00e9nez, and writer Francisco Pino Garc\u00eda.<\/p>\n
The publishing houses Alfaqueque and Gollar\u00edn, in a new collaborative initiative, present Magellan: The man and his feat<\/em><\/strong>, by the Austrian writer Stefan Zweig<\/strong>, a renowned work considered one of the author's greatest works. A richly illustrated edition, it includes twenty drawings by Pascual Adolfo L\u00f3pez Salue\u00f1a, a renowned artist who has collaborated on previous editions of Gollar\u00edn, as well as an academic contribution in the form of a prologue by Professor Carlos Mart\u00ednez Shaw, Emeritus Professor of Modern History at the UNED.<\/p>\n Its publication coincides with the celebration of the 500th anniversary of the Magellan and Elcano expedition, a publication that has been incorporated into the celebration activities by the National Commission created for this purpose by the Ministry of Culture.<\/p>\n Magellan: the man and his feat<\/em><\/strong> It is now available in bookstores and large stores.<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n Stefan Zweig<\/strong><\/p>\n (Austria 1881-Brazil 1942)<\/p>\n He is one of the best-known European writers of the 20th century. His work has been widely disseminated through such accomplished stories as Letter from an Unknown Woman<\/em>, Amok<\/em>, Twenty-four hours in the life of a woman<\/em> or Chess Novel<\/em>, but also through essays as suggestive as Castelio against Calvino or Brazil, country of the future<\/em> (his posthumous work).
