The Brotherhood of the Most Holy Christ of Consolation of Cieza, in order to promote devotion to our venerated image, calls this X PRIZE OF PHOTOGRAPH according to the following bases:
- PARTICIPANTS: Both amateur and professional photographers are eligible to enter the 10th "SANTO CRISTO DEL CONSUELO DE CIEZA" PHOTOGRAPHY PRIZE, excluding members of the Brotherhood's Board of Directors. Registration is free. There is a limit of 12 photographs per author.
- ISSUE: The subject of the photographs will be the image of the Most Holy Christ of Consolation of Cieza. Photos capturing any moment of the processions and transfers organized by the Brotherhood will also be eligible, even if the image of the Holy Christ is not included.
- ORIGINALITY OF THE WORK: All entries must be original, not submitted to any other competition, and free of any third-party copyrights. Photographs that have been previously reproduced in newspapers, magazines, catalogs, websites, or any other type of publication will not be selected. If a photographer wins a prize and this limitation is subsequently discovered, the photographer must return the prize.
- TECHNIQUE: It may be conventional, digital, or mixed, with photomontage or photo collage permitted. In color, black and white, or other color effects. Horizontal or vertical format.
- PRESENTATION: Photographs must be submitted exclusively in a size of 30x40 cm (larger sizes will not be accepted). Each author must include a CD containing the photographs submitted in digital jpg, tiff, or gif format with a minimum resolution suitable for reproduction in A4 size. If the photograph is not digital, the negatives must be submitted; the photographs may not be signed by the authors.
- ID: For each photograph, the author must complete a sealed envelope containing the following information: the author's full name, address, contact telephone number, and the title of the photograph, if applicable. Works without proper identification will not be entered into the competition.
- ADMISSION DEADLINE: It will be held between May 29 and June 1, 2017 (both inclusive), from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., at the address of this Brotherhood at Calle Cartas No. 18, ground floor.
- JURY: The jury will be appointed by the Board of Directors of the Brotherhood of the Most Holy Christ of Consolation of Cieza and will conduct a preliminary selection for public exhibition in the "La Pecera" room of the Siyâsa Museum in Cieza, between June 7 and June 23, 2017, during the museum's opening hours. Once the exhibition is over, the photographs will remain on display on the Brotherhood's website.
- PRIZE: The following prizes will be awarded: HONORARY PRIZE: 500 euros Runner-up 1: 300 euros Runner-up 2: 200 euros In order to encourage participation, no photographer may be eligible for more than one prize. If none of the winners is under 18 years of age, a YOUNG AUTHOR AWARD will be awarded, in addition to the previous prizes, worth 100 euros.
- JURY'S VERDICT: The awards ceremony will take place on Thursday, June 1, 2017, and will take place on Friday, June 2, 2017, in the Caja Murcia cultural center at 8:30 p.m. The award winners must be present at the ceremony.
- RESERVATION OF RIGHTS: The winning works will become part of the Brotherhood's artistic collection. They may not be used without the Brotherhood's authorization. The remaining works submitted but not awarded prizes will remain at the disposal of their creators. A one-month period is established for the collection of the photos, after which they will become the property of the Brotherhood. In both cases, the digital format or negative of all photos remains the property of the Brotherhood, and the Brotherhood reserves the right to reproduce and distribute the works, with explicit mention of the author.
At the discretion of the Jury, these awards may be declared null and void. The Jury's decision is final.
This Brotherhood will apply the same care and attention to the works received, but declines all responsibility for their loss or deterioration.
Participation in the 10th "SANTO CRISTO DEL CONSUELO DE CIEZA" Photography Prize implies full acceptance of these rules. Any unforeseen circumstances will be resolved by the Jury.
