The Brotherhood of Our Lady of Magdalene announces that this year, as is customary, the ninth edition of the 11-km charity race will be held alongside the Cieza City Half Marathon on December 3, 2017.

The brotherhood has decided that this year one euro of each runner's registration will go to the “Ciezapas Unified Sports Club”.

This club began its journey in early 2003, and was born from the need to respond to the demand for physical and sports activities with a normalized and inclusive character within the world of people with intellectual disabilities, aiming at the same time for this to be a meeting point for all people who share the idea of making an integrated sports practice a reality, without any obstacles other than those derived from the very nature of the subjects and their potential.

Currently 40 people from Cieza, Abarán and Blanca, (some of them belonging to Day Centers in our town) and around 200 children from the "Ali Omar" School located in Dajla, Sahrawi Refugee Camp in Tindouf (Algeria), aged between 6 and 12, some of them with Intellectual Disabilities, benefit from the services and sports equipment provided by the Ciezaps Unified Sports Club and its full team of volunteer professionals.

Over the years, they have developed a multitude of activities to promote the integration of people with intellectual disabilities through sports.

For all these reasons, the Sisterhood of Our Lady of Magdalene believes this club deserves our small contribution, so it can continue developing its social work. We also publicly express our gratitude for its work and efforts to integrate people with disabilities.
