251 fines have been imposed in the municipality of Cieza since the state of emergency was declared on March 14. These fines range from €600 to €30,000 and are used to penalize uncivil and irresponsible behavior by those who consistently fail to comply with the regulations governing the Royal Decree.
We are facing an exceptional, VERY SERIOUS situation. For the first time, our freedoms are being restricted, and we are forced to strictly follow the lockdown instructions. We are also forced to leave home only for what is strictly necessary. Therefore, an exercise of collective responsibility is necessary, because every time we go out, we put our health and that of everyone around us at risk.
In other communications, we have reiterated the need to go out only for ESSENTIALS, and there are still people who do not comply with this. In Spain, the peak of infections will be reached this week, but if irresponsible people persist, the situation in Cieza and the Region of Murcia could worsen.
Putting your own health at risk carries a financial penalty, because it not only puts the health of everyone strictly staying at home at risk, but also those around us, especially our seniors, and can cause our healthcare system to collapse.
This morning, the coordinators of the Cieza Oeste and Cieza Este health centers and the manager of Health Area IX conveyed to the Mayor of Cieza the need to ensure that citizens do not leave their homes. We are at a critical moment, in which it is essential to strengthen hygiene measures and, above all, confinement measures. It is the individual's responsibility to stop this, but if this is not done, the State Security forces and bodies, along with the collaboration and support of the army, will have to continue imposing sanctions.
We at Cieza City Council ask the public to be responsible, calm, and respectful of the rules, as this is the only way to stop the spread.
And if I come home from work and get reported, how can I appeal the fine?
