At 5:12 p.m., emergency services responded to numerous calls to the 1-1-2 Region of Murcia Emergency Coordination Center reporting a collision between two vehicles on the N-301 highway, as it passes through the town of Cieza, near the Los Prados industrial estate.
A Civil Guard patrol, firefighters from the Murcia Region Fire and Rescue Consortium, and several ambulances from the 061 Emergency and Emergency Management Service immediately responded to the scene.
Firefighters were forced to intervene to rescue several trapped people from inside a vehicle. The accident left five people injured: four women, two aged 21 and 24, two aged 45, and a 33-year-old man. All were taken to Lorenzo Guirao Hospital in Cieza, suffering from bruises and multiple injuries.
