The 3rd Ricote Valley Book Fair, an initiative that brings together the eight municipalities of the region to promote reading and shared culture, will be held from April 17 to 24. The Cervantes Theatre in Abarán hosted the presentation of the event today, which included the participation of the Director General of Cultural Heritage, Patricio Sánchez.

The event was also attended by mayors and councilors from Abarán, Archena, Blanca, Cieza, Ojós, Ricote, Ulea and Villanueva del Río Segura, who highlighted the collaborative nature of a project that has become one of the main cultural drivers of the territory.

The fair, which has the collaboration of the regional government, is part of the "strong commitment" of the Ministry of Tourism, Culture, Youth and Sports, through the General Directorate of Cultural Heritage, "to promote regional cultural projects that strengthen identity, territorial cohesion and access to culture in all municipalities of the Region of Murcia," in the words of Patricio Sánchez.

This third edition of the Book Fair will feature a coordinated program in all municipalities that will include literary presentations, meetings with authors, children's activities, workshops and cultural proposals for all audiences.

The project 'The Valley of the Wise. The culture that unites us', from which this fair was born, aims to strengthen the cultural identity of the Ricote Valley, promote reading and create a stable network of collaboration between municipalities, optimizing resources and generating a joint cultural program.

This edition will also promote common activities in all municipalities, such as a children's postcard exchange contest among schoolchildren, cultural proposals aimed at children and the participation of guest authors, thus reinforcing the inclusive and educational nature of the fair.

The Director General of Cultural Heritage has emphasized that this fair "is an example of how collaboration between administrations and the commitment of the regional government allow culture to reach all corners of the Region, generating opportunities and strengthening our common identity."

The Ricote Valley Book Fair, he added, "is thus consolidated as an example of institutional cooperation and cultural promotion from the local level, with a vocation for growth and regional projection, bringing reading and culture closer to residents of all ages."
