At 4:50 p.m. this afternoon, emergency services responded to a traffic accident near the Iron Bridge in Cieza, where a vehicle left the road and overturned next to the Segura River.

A call to 112 reporting the accident indicated that the vehicle had left the road and overturned against a tree. A man with a baby and a dog exited the wrecked vehicle, leaving a woman struggling to get out. Firefighters from the Murcia Region Fire and Rescue Consortium and an ambulance from the 061 Emergency Medical Service were immediately dispatched. The Cieza Local Police and Civil Guard were also notified.

Upon arrival, firefighters from the Consortium reported that all occupants of the vehicle were outside, and no intervention was required. Paramedics reported that they are taking the 9-month-old baby to the Arrixaca Maternal and Child Hospital for an assessment to rule out any internal injuries.
