NEWS UPDATED AT 7:20 PM.
The 1-1-2 Emergency Coordination Center in the Murcia Region received several calls starting at 5:35 p.m. reporting a collapsed roof at a warehouse located in the Ascoy Industrial Park in the municipality of Cieza.
Callers report four or five injured people, one of whom is unconscious after receiving a severe blow to the head.
It is reported that no one is trapped.
The following emergency services are dispatched to the scene:
- Firefighters from the Murcia Region Consortium from the Cieza regional fire station, a total of five firefighters, two light urban trucks, and one articulated boom truck.
- 3 ambulances from the Murcian Health Service (one mobile emergency unit, one ambulance from the Cieza emergency service, and one chartered ambulance)
Firefighters report that the injured are being treated by medical personnel.
Several 6m-long sandwich panel sheets have fallen when the trusses of the warehouse's roof gave way.
Firefighters are proceeding to assess the structure.
Finally, two people were transferred.
The Cieza Emergency Department ambulance has transported a 39-year-old woman to the Cieza Hospital with a head injury that did not result in loss of consciousness.
The Cieza Mobile Emergency Unit transferred a 31-year-old woman to the Cieza hospital with a contusion to her torso.
Three other people were treated on-site and transported by their own means:
A 22-year-old woman with an anxiety attack.
A 34-year-old man with a contusion on his trunk.
A 28-year-old man with minor injuries.
