More than 25,000 units will be distributed thanks to the solidarity of neighbors and companies.
The Cieza City Council has begun distributing solidarity masks to all homes in Cieza so that, initially, citizens can go with an extra layer of protection when they need to make essential outings.
These are masks that have been made by volunteers, with material donated by various companies, and which aim to alleviate the shortage of this medical equipment.
It's important to clarify that these are not certified masks, but they are useful as a physical barrier to prevent the spread of infection while supplies are limited. The masks are made of polypropylene and can be washed at 65 degrees Celsius.
The deliveries will be made to individual homes via mailboxes to minimize personal contact. Neighborhood associations, using volunteers, will handle the distribution.
More than 25,000 masks will be distributed, which we must once again thank the chain of solidarity that has emerged as a result of this terrible global pandemic.
The City Council requests understanding, patience and empathy towards all the volunteers who are carrying out the work of making, washing, packaging and distributing the masks, as everything is done with the best of intentions to contribute to eliminating the pandemic.
Once the distribution is complete, if any household does not receive masks, they will have a telephone number available to claim them and will be assisted.
The City Council reiterates the importance of taking extra precautions regarding personal hygiene and social distancing, and the need to stay home and only leave in cases of extreme necessity. “We are on the path to defeating the disease, but we cannot relax the measures and go backwards.”
