Due to the current health crisis caused by the COVID-19 coronavirus, the Department of Employment and Economic Development of the Cieza City Council is working to support both affected economic sectors and workers who have become unemployed during this period.
Therefore, in collaboration with the Cieza Farmers' Center (made up of the agricultural organizations FECOAM, COAG, and UPA) and the unions UGT and CCOO, a job pool will be created for all those interested in working in the municipality's agricultural sector this year. In this way, we aim to achieve the triple objective of improving the social and labor conditions of the population (ensuring better pay for the unemployed and a means of protection for the undocumented population), maintaining the income of the population most in need, maintaining agricultural activity and sustainability, and at the same time, ensuring the normal supply of markets.
"It is essential to ensure sufficient labor availability to meet farmers' needs, ensuring proper production, not only in terms of quantity but also on time, so that it reaches the end consumer without loss of quantity or quality," the City Council states.
The statement adds that "the special conditions of population confinement and mobility restrictions, agreed upon as an unavoidable health measure, make it even more important that our agricultural and food production can develop under the best possible conditions given the current situation and ensure a full, efficient, and sufficient supply of needed food products to citizens."
To this end, anyone interested in working on the municipality's farms and cooperatives during the agricultural campaign should contact the Employment Department Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., by calling 968767441 or sending an email with their contact information to empleo@cieza.es.
Subsequently, all jobs will be managed through the Farmers' Center, the most representative agricultural companies and unions.
I want to work. I'm from Girona, but I'm willing to travel to help out in the fields.
I would like to receive information about the job.
