Following the entry into force of Royal Decree 463/2020, of March 14, declaring a state of emergency to manage the health crisis caused by COVID-19 (hereinafter RD 463/2020), the Department of Circular Economy implemented an extraordinary protocol from day one to intensify cleaning and disinfection efforts.
The disinfection tasks, which, in a first phase, have included a shock plan carried out by staff of the companies that provide street cleaning and waste collection services, Aguas de Cieza and Entorno Urbano, respectively, have covered those areas that will continue to have a significant influx as their use is permitted by Royal Decree, including both public spaces, such as Health centers, hospitals, food markets, social services buildings, street furniture, especially containers, as well as the surroundings of all those private commercial premises included in article 10 of the Royal Decree and whose opening is still permitted, such as supermarkets, pharmacies, tobacco shops and ATMs inter alia.
