A total of 16 students from CEIP Pedro Rodríguez will depart on Friday, March 29th for an adventure through European lands.
Within the European Erasmus+ program, and co-financed by the European Union, this group of 16 students and 3 teachers from the Center will travel from March 29 to April 6 through France and Belgium.
The "Chanson et Inclusión" (Song and Inclusion) project has been developed over the last two school years with students from the Pedro Rodríguez Educational Center, focusing on inclusion through choral singing. Based on songs by the Belgian-Spanish singer-songwriter Raphy Rafael, the students have been working for months to prepare a repertoire of songs in French, English, Turkish, and Spanish. These songs were presented to the citizens of Cieza during the 3rd Cieza Educating City Gala, whose central theme was inclusion.
The group will travel to Paris, where the students will enjoy a weekend in the French capital and practice French as a means of communication, the official language of the project. They will then travel to Brussels, where they will meet with 15 students from Turkey, 15 from the United Kingdom, and another group of Belgian students. A total of three concerts will be held in different locations throughout Belgium, featuring a choir made up of students from the four participating countries, conducted by Marie Paule Letawe, with Raphy Rafael providing guitar and melody.
CEIP Pedro Rodríguez is known for its inclusive education, which promotes the right to be different, without discrimination.
