This Saturday and Sunday, the Atalaya Club will host an interesting event organized by the Ibero-African Biological Studies Society, an organization dedicated to the study and protection of fauna and flora in Spain and North Africa. It is conceived as a group of scientists and naturalists dedicated to raising awareness, disseminating information, and studying Ibero-African biodiversity.
The activity will consist of the recognition of the main environmental values of the hydrographic network ofthe Cieza area, through the provision of two training courses and a field day.
Saturday, December 2, at 6:30 p.m., at the Ateneo of the Villa-Club Atalaya de Cieza.
- Talk "Ecological types of the Segura River network: from Santiago Pontones to Guardamar," by Félix Carrillo López, PhD in biology and specialist in botany.
- Talk "Fauna associated with the wetlands of the Segura basin," by José Alguazas, an agricultural engineer with a master's degree in agroecology and training in wildlife tracking.
Sunday, December 3, 8:00 a.m., Quípar reservoir.
- “Field trip, bird watching, and wildlife trails at the Quípar reservoir,” will be led by Pablo Perales and Irene Arnaldos.
