Last Friday, the 10th, the 7th Plenary Commission of the Smart Tourism Destinations Network was held, chaired by the Secretary of State for Tourism, Fernando Valdés. Cieza participated as a full member, represented by its Tourism Councilor, Antonio Moya.
The Commission lasted nearly two hours and approved the list of new applications for membership in the DTI Network, which will be reviewed and voted on for inclusion as new members of the Network.
The DTI Network's board members were also renewed, thus renewing its executive committee. At the same time, the Network's proposed code of ethics and the proposed categorization of all its full members were approved.
Antonio Moya took advantage of the meeting to congratulate the new executive committee and thank the Plenary Committee for recognizing the great tourism work carried out in Cieza through its inclusion in the Smart Tourism Destinations Network. The Councilor for Tourism stated that "it is an honor that Cieza is where it deserves to be, at the pinnacle of tourism innovation and sustainability. A job well done is rewarded, and the tourism project that the city council has developed in Cieza is proof of this. We are a Smart Tourism Destination with the privilege that this entails."
"The work done in the tourism sector by both the governing team and the technical team is commendable. However," Moya affirms, "we must not become complacent. We will continue working to grow a little more each day. Cieza has immense tourism and human potential that deserves to be known and recognized internationally."
