Thanks to citizen awareness and the work of the Abraham Project, Cieza closed 2024 with a significant increase in used clothing collection, reaffirming its commitment to environmental sustainability and the circular economy. Last year, 82,213 kilograms were collected, representing a 47.5 percent increase from 2020 to the present.
The data was recorded in the thirty-five containers installed on public roads and in the municipal eco-park, where a total of 1,013 kilograms of used clothing, textile waste, and footwear were deposited.
The data provided by the Department of the Environment reflects the positive impact of this initiative. Sources from this municipal department highlight the citizen collaboration and the efforts of Proyecto Abraham, an authorized project manager for the Autonomous Community of Murcia.
