International Museum Day is celebrated on May 18th around the world, including in Cieza. Cieza City Council has launched a series of special activities at the city's museums, starting this Thursday. These activities include screenings, special openings, guided tours, and recreational activities for children and adults.
The program was announced this Monday at the Siyâsa Museum by Mayor Tomás Rubio; Councilor for Museums María Turpín; Vice President of the JHP (JHP), Ángel Penalva; Director of the Siyâsa Museum, Joaquín Salmerón; Director of the Municipal Folklore Center, Jesús Saorín; and President of the Cieza Artists Association, Rafael Torres.
International Museum Day aims to raise awareness of the importance of museums as a means of cultural exchange and cultural enrichment.
👉Activities in Cieza:
Activities begin this Thursday, May 15, at the Esparto Museum with a screening at 8:00 p.m. of the documentary "Cieza, Atochas y Espartizales. Los Trabajos del Esparto." This same venue will hold an open-door evening on Friday, starting at 8:00 p.m., with a guided tour and a nighttime spinning demonstration led by master spinners.
🎼On the other hand, the Board of Passion Brotherhoods has organized a candlelight concert at the Holy Week Museum House, which will be held on Saturday, May 17 at 8:00 p.m.
Likewise, the Municipal Folklore Center has scheduled an escape room titled "María Gómez's House," with screenings on Saturday and Sunday at 4:30, 6, and 7:30 p.m. (May 17) and 12:30 p.m. (May 18).
♟The Siyâsa Museum On Saturday, from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., the company offers a workshop on making medieval Roman games, aimed at all ages, starting at 6 years old.
🎨Finally, the Cieza Artists Association will hold a life drawing session with models on Sunday, May 18th, in the Andalusian houses of the Siyâsa Museum from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. under the title 'Siyâsa al natural'.
