The "la Caixa" Foundation and the Brotherhood of Santa Verónica de Cieza are launching the second "Enjoying Summer Social School," aimed at local children who have not been accepted into other similar projects or whose families lack the financial resources to attend.

The school, which was presented this past Tuesday by the president of Verónica, Carlos Gustavo Aroca, and the councilors for Social Welfare and Education, Cristina García-Vaso and Manuela Fernández, respectively, is staffed by 70 children and has a budget of over 14,000 euros. The Pedro Rodríguez Public School will be held for the second year, lasting two weeks.

The Summer Social School includes a program of recreational, sports, and social activities aimed at students from families with limited financial resources. The children, who will be supervised at all times by qualified staff, will have breakfast, lunch, and dinner in the school cafeteria every day. They will also have access to the municipal swimming pools.

The objective of this project, funded by the Obra Social "La Caixa" (La Caixa Foundation) and supported by the Departments of Education, Social Welfare, and Sports, is primarily to ensure that children enjoy the summer season on equal terms with other children in our municipality.
