The Department of Sports of the Cieza City Council, headed by Carlos Semitiel, informs of the publication on the Cieza City Council website www.cieza.es , as well as on the Department's website www.deportescieza.es of the bases corresponding to subsidies to sports clubs and aid to athletes of the municipality, corresponding to the 2019/2020 season, being able to request them through the municipal registry. Applications for subsidies can be submitted from this Tuesday, October 20, while in the case of applications for aid to athletes the deadline begins this Thursday, October 22, 2020. In both cases, the deadline for submitting applications is 20 calendar days.

In this new call for proposals, the funding allocated for these activities has increased by €2,500, representing a 10% increase compared to the previous call. The increase in this allocation is one of the objectives that the sports service set for this new term, in its commitment to assisting a very important sector in the sports field, which carries out commendable work on a daily basis in terms of sports development and promotion.

The sports councilor states that, "in this very difficult year for everyone, where social and economic policies have a fundamental weight in the budget, it is great news to maintain these subsidies that were recovered in the last legislative period after many years, and above all to have increased them. Not in the way we had originally planned, but I consider it a great step in our intention to continue increasing them in this legislative period. We are obliged to help our clubs and athletes in a very difficult year for finding sponsors, given the difficult situation we find ourselves in. We will continue working to ensure that sport in Cieza receives the support it deserves from the local government."
