The Cieza City Council informs the public that this coming Monday, November 10th, at 7:00 p.m., a citizen gathering will take place in the Plaza de Santa Ana in Hellín, convened by the Platform for the Train of Hellín and Regions, in defense of the immediate reopening of the Chinchilla-Cartagena railway line (L-320).
This event is being held after a meeting took place a few days ago between the Ministry of Transport and the Commission for the Defense of the Cartagena-Albacete Railway Corridor, in which the Councillor for Sustainable Mobility and Transport of the Cieza City Council participated, and where he was also given the documentation of the study carried out by the Commission which included the need for: Electrification, Double Track, European Gauge and above all the immediate Reopening of said line with the schedules and frequencies (Two ALVIA and two regional trains), the most suitable trains being the ALVIA S 730.
Therefore, this demonstration aims to demand that the Ministry of Transport and ADIF complete the pending works and restore rail services with direct connections between Cartagena, Murcia, Cieza, Hellín and Albacete.
The Cieza City Council joins this demand and encourages residents to participate in the event, recalling the importance of this railway line for the economic, social and environmental development of the entire region.
