This Wednesday afternoon, the Blue Room of Cieza City Hall hosted the first meeting of the new Local Agrarian Council following the local elections last May.

The council meeting was chaired by the mayor of the municipality, Tomás Rubio, who was accompanied by the Councilor for Agriculture, Manuel Martínez.

Representing the municipal groups of the new Corporation were Councillor Pascual Egea for Vox and Antonio Moya for the Socialist municipal group.

Also in attendance were representatives from the local agricultural sector, cooperatives, the agricultural organizations COAG and UPA, spokespersons from irrigation communities, and FECOAM.

After the council was formed with its new members, the meeting served to review the status of some of the most pressing issues currently facing the agricultural sector in Cieza, such as the repair of rural roads and the development of the new bridge project over the Segura River in the El Ginete area.
