This past Friday, February 2, Cieza City Hall hosted a meeting of the Women's Council with a large turnout.

The purpose of the meeting was to plan and agree on the actions to be carried out in the municipality on March 8, International Women's Day.

Chaired by the Councilor for Women and Equality, Cristina García-Vaso, the assembly took place in a collaborative and participatory atmosphere. Representatives of the following associations were present: San José Obrero, the Atenea Women's Association, Aixa La Orra, Medina Siyâsa, the Red Cross Youth, and Ajuntaera Feminista Akelinza, a young women's association recently incorporated into the Women's Council. Representatives of the various political parties also attended: CCCi, PSOE, PP, Podemos, and IU.

This year, the program planned for the commemoration of March 8th will include exhibitions, guided tours, campaigns in educational centers, radio programs, recreational activities, and more. The second annual "March 8th" awards ceremony will also be held, honoring women who have distinguished themselves in various spheres of Ciezan society.

It is worth highlighting the collaboration and participation of all the entities that make up the Women's Council, which work daily to highlight the invaluable contributions of Ciezan women in all areas of local culture, both past and present.
