00:27 hours - Emergency services attended to two people affected by the fire that broke out in their home located in Travesía del Cabezo, near Calle Nueva, in the old town of Cieza.
A call from the Cieza Local Police patrol to the 1-1-2 Emergency Coordination Center of the Region of Murcia alerted authorities to the incident, requesting the urgent dispatch of firefighters and paramedics after hearing cries for help coming from inside the house. Firefighters from the Fire and Rescue Consortium of the Region of Murcia and a Mobile Emergency Unit from the 061 Emergency and Urgent Healthcare Service were immediately dispatched to the scene.
The fire, which affected the ground floor of the house, was quickly extinguished. Paramedics treated two people at the scene, a 44-year-old man and woman, who were suffering from smoke inhalation. The cause of the fire is currently unknown.
