A few days ago, the Minister of Education announced that several schools in the Region would enjoy free education at the 2-3 year level, thanks to funds provided by the Ministry of Education and some subsidies that would be granted by the Autonomous Community.

Upon hearing this news, the Councilor for Education, María Ramos, immediately asked the councilor to join the announced subsidy program so that she could offer free tuition in the 2- and 3-year-old classrooms at the Municipal Infant School.

"It's common knowledge that education responsibilities fall to the Autonomous Community; however, for years now, the Cieza City Council has assumed improper responsibility for the 0-3 classrooms at the Municipal Nursery School. Therefore, it's time for the regional department to assume its responsibility and address the free education at this school," Ramos emphasized.

The Councilor for Education believes that "it's time for the Municipal School, like other centers in the Region, to benefit from a subsidy from the Autonomous Community and for its children not to be disadvantaged or discriminated against." She also adds that "the center's facilities meet all the requirements the regional government requires for educational work at this stage, so no work or renovations would be necessary."
