Personnel assigned to the Infomur Plan, which combats forest fires in the Region of Murcia, have extinguished a fire on agricultural land very close to the banks of the Segura River. This fire was caused by uncontrolled burning of agricultural waste in the area of El Maripinar, in the municipality of Cieza.
On Monday, January 22nd, the Murcia Region 1-1-2 Coordination Center received a call reporting a fire from the person burning the fire. Firefighters from the Murcia Region Firefighting and Rescue Consortium (CEIS), environmental agents, a rapid response team, and a forestry brigade were dispatched to the scene. The fire did not affect forest land.
