The 1-1-2 Emergency Coordination Center of the Murcia Region received a call at 4:59 p.m. today from the La Atalaya sentry box in Cieza regarding a reed and scrub fire that had broken out in the Cañalillos area of Cieza.
The fire is located near the river and far from the mountainous area.
The environmental agent and civil guard in the area of the fire reported the need for extinguishing equipment.
The following units are mobilized to the scene of the fire:
- 1 Rapid Intervention Brigade.
- 1 Forestry Brigade.
- Firefighters from the Murcia Region Fire and Rescue Consortium belonging to the Cieza station (5 firefighters and 3 vehicles: 1 tanker truck, 1 heavy rural fire engine, and 1 headquarters vehicle).
5:53 p.m. The fire department has declared the fire under control.
6:19 p.m. Firefighters are withdrawing from the fire scene, and members of the forestry brigade, rapid response brigade, and environmental officers remain on the scene to extinguish the fire.
6:52 p.m. The fire department declares the fire extinguished.
