In response to the various incidents that have been occurring over the past few months involving various violations of the Municipal Ordinance on Street Cleaning and Waste Management, Mayor Tomás Rubio has issued an order urging strict compliance with the ordinance and announcing a monitoring and inspection campaign that could result in fines.

Mr. Tomas Antonio Rubio Carrillo, Mayor-President of the City Council of Cieza, announces that the following order has been issued regarding the strict enforcement of the municipal bylaw on street cleaning and waste management.

The Cieza City Council, exercising its legal powers and with a firm commitment to protecting public health, environmental quality, and citizen coexistence, reiterates the full validity of the Municipal Ordinance on Street Cleaning and Household Waste Management.

The cleanliness and well-being of our municipality is everyone's responsibility.

Only with a civic and responsible attitude can we live in a healthier, safer, and more environmentally friendly environment.

The ordinance is based on the principles of prevention, sustainability, and shared responsibility. Strict compliance with the regulations is essential to ensuring a decent, healthy, and respectful environment for all.

We request the fullest cooperation of citizens to comply with the ordinance, report uncivil behavior, and actively contribute to maintaining cleanliness and harmony in our streets, squares, and common spaces.

In recent months, numerous violations of municipal regulations have been detected, such as improper waste disposal, abandoned furniture and belongings, dumping waste in public streets, failure to comply with collection schedules, and improper use of containers. These behaviors seriously damage public spaces, pose health risks, and result in additional costs for all residents.

Therefore, this City Council has decided to launch an intensive campaign of monitoring, inspection, and sanctions, with rigorous enforcement of the municipal ordinance.

Sanctions against those who violate the ordinance

· Starting today, those who violate the ordinance will be fined the maximum amount provided for in municipal regulations, especially in cases of repeated or serious violations.

Depending on the type of violation, according to Article 46 of the Municipal Ordinance, penalties may range up to:

· 150 euros for minor infractions

· 1,500 euros for serious violations

· 3,000 euros for very serious violations.

In addition, in the case of very serious violations, additional sanctions may be imposed, such as the temporary closure of establishments or the suspension of licenses for up to six months.

This City Council will apply the maximum sanctioning regime without exception when the severity of the acts or repeated offenses warrant it.
