The Cieza City Council has actively participated in the
workshop called PEER REVIEW or inter-city review
held in the city of Vratsa (Bulgaria), within the framework of the
European project URBACT BiodiverCity, an initiative that
promotes biodiversity in the urban environment and the
exchange of good practices between European cities
committed to biodiversity.
During the meeting, representatives of Cieza presented the
presentation entitled “Climate-adaptive management of trees
urban”, in which the strategies and actions were presented
that the municipality is developing to improve resilience
of urban trees in the face of climate change.
The intervention highlighted the importance of green planning
adapted to the new climatic conditions, as well as the role
key that trees play in reducing
temperatures, improved air quality and well-being
citizen.
The URBACT BiodiverCity project brings together different cities
European with the aim of promoting biodiversity in the
urban areas, integrating ecological criteria into the management of
public spaces and promoting solutions based on the
nature.
Cieza's participation in this European workshop reaffirms the
the municipality's commitment to environmental protection
